Dee Powell Stand Still What You Chase Eludes You

There’s a point we all come to in marketing where we have to learn to stand still. Early on we may have started following the crowds, finding people doing the same things we are, and trying to get in where we fit in. We told family and friends what we’re doing and couldn’t figure out why they weren’t as excited as we were. We told the barber, the baker, and the neighbors. And while these are great break the ice tactics that can help you get comfortable in doing new things and meeting new people, chasing people never works. So how to set yourself apart from crowd? How do stop be a follower or someone who is always chasing after others to make a sale?

Stand Still And Let Them Come To You

Through attraction marketing people pick up on your journey, your story and what your vision is by what you tell them. Understanding what grabs Stand Stillhumans or gets them excited can help you carve your story in an irresistible way. In a way that draws people to you like a magnet. This is the type of leadership role you want to work towards. Chasing people and pushing links at people you’ve never even communicated with is like playing the lottery. Serious marketers never share links without first having created a connection with the person and etiquette says “not if they didn’t ask for it”. When you have long term goals marketing is never a grab and go game. Be aware of these types of sales tactics and stay away from them. You can use this knowledge both ways.

Have you ever seen the movie “Field of Dreams”? The voice told Ray “if you build it they will come”. A corn field with a baseball field smack in the middle of it. It’s pretty much the same thing. Baseball in America is a sport that has grabbed people and attracted them for centuries. This is how the voice could be so sure that “if you build it they will come”. Baseball is too irresistible to common Americans. Just knowing that piece about how it can draw people in due to memories or great feelings around the sport is important to convert into your marketing tactics. Stand still and let them come to you otherwise your pushing ice scrapers in the tropics.

To Stand Still Does Not Mean To Skip The Work

It will take time and patience to build your business to the place you envision today. Nothing happens overnight. You have to take the time to learn, to practice, and to get serious about your results. Focusing on your business means you learn faster more efficient ways to carry things out. You can stand still and better assess where you can outsource to free up your time, or where you can cut back tasks that aren’t producing. Standing still doesn’t mean being stagnant, it’s just a way to get clear on your vision and the work that will go into it.
