I enjoyed seeing the look on my Mothers (Lillian Sullivan) face as Kevin received his award and during his speech. Words cannot express how proud our Mom is of Him. I wish our Dad (William Sullivan) was alive to witness this event, but grateful our Mom was able to.

Information from the Hall of Fame Program:

[Coach Sullivan graduated from Florida State University after which he became an assistant coach at St Thomas Aquinas High School. He has been an assistant coach at Lincoln High and Lake Weir High. He has been Head Coach at Deerfield Beach High, Port Orange High and Andrew Jackson High and is currently the Head Coach at Atlantic Coast High School in Jacksonville Fl.

Coach Sullivan has served on the FHSAA Advisory Committee and has been a FACA District Sports Chair for nine years. He has been FACA District “Coach of the year” multiple times and was named 4A Football State “Coach of the Year” in 2001 where he coached Florida’s Mr Football Leon Washington. Kevin has received the FACA Life membership Award and FACA meritorious Service Award as well as Professional Service Award for his years of service. His personal highlights are coaching in numerous All Star Games, speaking at FACA Clinics and all the good people he met along the way. in his spare time he enjoys running, reading and spending time with his family.]

Ok I’m a proud sister but I thought it was pretty impressive. Most of it I didn’t really know because well he’s my brother and well he doesn’t talk about his accomplishments with his sister. Kevin is a family man and just hanging out with his family enjoying their company is what he likes to do. He’s not the person who needs to let everyone know how great he is.

But my brother Kevin is a great man, I am so very proud of him and his accomplishments as a Coach and as a Father and Husband. I have watched his children grow up to be exceptional young adults. I believe it’s because he is an exceptional father.

The Hall of Fame ceremony was an emotional time for me because not only was our Family there to support him for his award, but there were former players that he coached there, Coaches that he has worked with, his principle and 3 NFL players that were his former High school players there including Leon Washington running back with the Tennessee Titans.

Kevin’s speech was awesome. I sat there is awe at the man my baby brother had become. He didn’t toot his own horn during his speech but he talked about being a servant leader. How this award belonged to all the kids who he has coached over the years and how much of an impact they have has on his life. How he got value from seeing his players make something of their lives. How he was humbled to have been able to be a part of their lives. In the end he praised his wife Tammy for supporting him all these years and how he loved her and he couldn’t have done it without her. That the award was really hers.

My brother, Coach Kevin Sullivan I am so very proud of You. You inspire me to want to be more and to do more to make a difference in the lives around me. Thanks for being such a great example to the kids you have coached and to your own children as well. The Hall of fame award couldn’t have gone to a more deserving man.
